that is a very very nice lookin' Veloster!!! Absolutely love the wheels on that car..



I am at the point where as long as the color is not red or black, ill pretty much take any Veloster turbo on the lot, come august..

 

i'm still on the fence with lowering my Veloster. but how low can i really go without messing with handling around corners. let me know folks. thanks

 

My Genesis handles so much better with coilovers on.

 

Lowering a car wont hurt handling unless you do it in a ghetto way (i.e. cutting or heating springs). By going with an aftermarket spring or coilover set up, the car will handle waaaayyy better than stock!

 

Depends on how low you go, and the geometry of the veloster. Usually lowering a mcpherson strut car will also lower the roll center more than the center of gravity, increasing the roll couple and increasing body roll. However, this is traditionally offset with a higher spring rate so nobody notices.

 

I've been sitting on a set of springs for a month or so now after I realized there are no after market shock replacements out yet. Trying to decide on just putting in the springs and living with the crappy shocks for a while or if I should just pony up for a set of coil overs... ><

 

As long as you dont go low enough on a MacPherson strut system that fully compressed the lower A arms are below horizontal you're ok. Below that you start decreasing outside tire negative camber when cornering forces are applied, which is bad for handling (and safety).
