It's a good price still, how much of that is actual cost/markup?

I'm the d*ck that walks into the dealership, pick a car and a color, tell the dude "I'm willing to pay x which is y over cost, we shake hands, you get a check and we both leave happy."

^^^ Here in Vegas, they'd tell you to get bent and have a nice day. I'd put money on not one single Veloster Turbo in Vegas selling for under msrp for at least 6 months.

yeah, a lot of the guys on the V forums (read: ignorant mostly) are thinking they are going to get a FULLY loaded model for ~24k out the door because if they threaten to walk, the dealer will go under MSRP. The NA Veloster is so hot most dealers are trying to mark them up up to 4000$ OVER MSRP.

The Turbo is going to be even hotter most likely, not to mention BRAND NEW. I think that almost no one will get them under MSRP. There is going to be enough demand that the next few people in line would be willing to pay MSRP or possibly more.

That's really location dependent. In a major city, yes, I will agree, because the reality is behind every educated consumer there's a dozen suckers.

However give it a couple of months, don't buy in impulse, go informed and ready to walk, don't sound hungry, and above all else don't go to the mega dealers in the heart of the city. The deal is always out there imho.

Keep in mind as well that there bound to be a lot of cross shopping with the BRZ/GT86(FR-S) both hitting the market around the same time (and being an FR near the price of the higher end V-turbo's packaged FF), and I've seen the Juke-R intuitive sell a lot of the awd version base as of late. The market's going to be, in the longer run, harder for Hyundai than I think we realize.

Your right, it is a very full market in that price range. Lots of fun cars to choose from. Trouble is going to be get a chance to even drive one of them for a while. LOL

I've been in contact with three local dealers and plan to get one of the first Vturbos in the area as long as it is in an acceptable trim for me.

which means it will be matte grey, white, silver, vitamin C or blue AND M/T. base or fully loaded doesn't matter to me..
