I hated the veloster
When I first saw it in pictures. Thought it was the ugliest thing Hyundai has ever made. But seeing them in person has really made me drawn to them and pictures dont do them justice. Im thinking about picking up a 2012 turbo next year when they go down in price.

They're better looking in person, but I still think they're pretty far from beautiful. The turbo is very sensible and practical though.

just because you put a turbo on it dosent make it fast. but i do like the styling of them, they should have just threw a 2.0 theta in it and called it a day. no sense underpowering a heavy hatchback when the obvious trend is to high hp hatches or at least a good 170-200hp

I have to admit I was a complete fan of them when they were first released. loved the styling, the 3rd door wasn't my thing but I didn't mind. then I drove one, expecting it to have similar performance to a stock tib - around the same hp and weight. not really. I am no longer interested. there was a lot of road noise and it really didn't feel like a brand new car. they do look good though. I'm wondering if the turbo is any better.

lol ^ owned!
the V-tarbo is 200hp, where the Genesis is 210 ('10-'12 model). It's also something like 600 pounds lighter than the Genesis. The fuel economy from the smaller engine is significant, which is one of the factors owners of this vehicle will be looking for.
