Winter is coming - heated mirror question
How in the world do I add heated mirrors to my car? Is there a way to remove the chrome part of the mirror and place an electric heating pad behind it? Last year my mirrors use to ice up and it would be nice to not deal with that again. I added heating pads to my seats to make them heated so Im sure I could do the same to my mirrors if someone can explain how to take them apart safely without breaking them.

It's easy enough to disassemble a mirror, you just prise the glass out with two big screwdrivers. Now as for fitting a heating element back there... maybe? The glass is backed with plastic, the entire mechanism in there is also plastic. I'm not sure how kindly they would take to a home-brewed heater jammed in there.
I'd say your best bet is to look at how OEM heated mirrors are made, and try to mimic that as best you can.

The hard part is running the wiring. You can get replacement heated glass easy enough. Or you can just add a heater element to the back of your existing mirror glass.

Running the wires would be the easy part since Tibs came with power mirrors. Just follow the existing wires in place into the cabin and you're good to go!
