17x9 rims equals 225? in tyre width doesn't it? If it does the your tyres are 30mm (an inch is 25mm) wider than your rims. Just a thought and I could be wrong.

On my supra i am running a 255 on a 8" rim! 255 would be very square on 9" rim, but there is no way a 255 will tuck under a Tib fender with a 9" wheel and -30. You can run the rim but you will be flush, you would need to have a slight strech to the tire. like 225, maybe a 215...
