I work at a truck stop and I've seen this stuff before .. but always figured it was for semis or something.
Then today I was really bored and the motor kote promotional video was playing and I started watching it and damn that is amazing stuff. I would like to try some of it. Anyone heard or have experience with it?

In the video, there is a bearing spinning which has weights being added on to it and there is a small oil reservoir at the bottom. So, there are all these different kinds of oils, and with enough weight the bearing stops spinning. MotorKote is added, and it starts spinning again. Then he adds another 85lbs, and eventually TAKES THE OIL PAN OFF and the bearing STILL is spinning. It's so hot it's smoking. Supposedly, MotorKote is a hyper lubricant and part of it can even bond to the metal, lubricating when there is no oil there. I really was amazed when he took the oil off and the bearing just kept spinning.

Anyway, thoughts?

I'll take 3 quarts in 10W-40


...do your research before putting that in your car anywhere. It could be used as a lubricant for (ex. hatch shocks or shifter cable)...who knows it might make a difference.

No, it's an additive.
You add 2 ounces per quart of oil.
They also make fuel treatment where you add 1 oz per 10 gallons, never seen anything on that though.
It's all hella expensive, I think it's like $40 for 20 ounces? For our cars that will last only 2 1/2 oil changes.

After searching around the site a little bit you'll see not all my info was 100% accurate, I only saw pieces of the video. Still, this stuff LOOKS like it really works. One of my co-workers said he's going to try putting it in a 30 year old lawn mower and then drain the oil and see how long it runs, lol.
I am not Sold yet, but I might try some in the tib soon.

It's an old brand... I knew also Molycote, which I think is the same. As for advertising, I have seen a very similar ad of SLICK 50.

I can only tell you I used it on a previous car, it really made no difference (and I used it on every oil change from 50k Km to 100k Km) the engine was runing smoothly, but all engines after that car have also run smoothly without any additive. I don'0t think with todays oils you really need to add anything, nothing better than an oil change when it's time (and a little earlier is even better smile.gif )
I also remember Random said that our cars do not like any type of teflon additives because the little teflon particles clogg the HLA's and they begin to TICK, man our cars don't even like synthetic oil if you are not going to replace it as often as regular oil... as far as I can tell you after 3 cars with Beta engines, what our cars like the most, is short term oil changes.

Not to mention, when you starting burning teflon, it can become a toxious chemical. If you ever read the DuPont disclaimers on teflon pans, they say that if you burn teflon (into the form called PTFE intoxication). It's affected birds, but some scientists think that it can cause birth deformities and what not. But I mean...think about the birdies. lmao.gif

Honestly, I am skeptical of ANY liquid you pour into the crankcase or tank that supposedly coats and BONDS to the metal of the engine. Sorry, I just do not see it happening. Not only are most metal to metal surfaces polished, but the constant movement and grinding would scrape anything from their surfaces.
