Im new to tiburons but I came across a deal for this 00' 5spd manual, I bieleve its a RD2. What should I be looking for in this car ? Its used with 70k miles, how much hp does it have in it and its weight? Is it a good car for modding? Is there any flaws in this car at all? And will it last me long? I bieleve the car is going for $4950 aswell. Its a weird looking green aswell, and that car has been there for over 6 months 8O thanks for all those who reply. Cause Im looking at this car, if I cant afford a Z24 Im also looking at.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty low too, but its been at the car lot for awhole now and they just lowered the price from 9k to this, so I think they really want to get rid of it, I test drove it and it drives actully pretty nice and It was faxed and came up clean.

there really are not too many faults with the car. The biggest one you will find are front wheel bearings. Some people go through lots of them, others are still on the originals. my 99 is on it's third on the passengerside but the original on the Driver's at 101,000 miles.

Stock brake rotors tend to warp.. but we have deals all the time for slotted and drilled rotors that are better than stock.

Some of the interior plastic cracks.. both of my door panals have developed them.

Also, some people here will complain that the Hyundai tranny doesn't hold up.. Grinding gears and such.. I personally think some of them need to learn how to really handle a stick.. while I am on the second tranny in my car, that was a warrenty issue related to a bad snapring internally.

well one thing is for sure, you'll like the tib MUCH more than the z24. my wife has a 99 z24 and I have an 01 tiburon. we both agree that the z24 had more power stock, but just a little more. now with my mods the tibs much quicker, plus the steering has always been superior. laugh.gif

btw, both cars above are five speeds

edit: mods are just intake and header

I have raced quite a few Z24's and owned them all. My mods may have helped a little though.

AEM CAI, 4-1 Header, and FULL exhaust.
