I have this sound that starts at 25mph and is getting even louder as I go faster. Now this only happens some times, but it takes like 1 week to stop again. Like the last two days I was driving the car hard (fast turnings and everything) and yesterday it started again.

It seems that the problem is at the rear right wheel.

What I can't understand is this: when I don't have this annoying sound when I go straight and when I turn left, I have it when I turn right. Now when I have the sound when I go straight and when I turn left, I don't have it when I turn right. I don't bother in the first situation but at the second is sooo annoying. The thing that I expained you at the beggining, about driving the car fast, thats when the go straight and turn left sound starts. So what you think is the problem?

Excuse my english. If you don't understand something please let me know and I will try and write it again in a different way smile.gif

Update:

I really need a good website to buy an aftermarket rear wheel bearing. I just went to the hyundai service and they told me that it costs 70 CY pounds = 142.85 USD without even installing it !!!

Just go to your favorite auto store (ex. Autozone, pep-boys etc)... I dont know which you have there, but one should carry a "Rear Wheel Hub" for your year (BTW, fill out the year of your car in your profile). If they dont have em in stock, they will order them.

Like I said, mine was around $80.

Go to a local wreckers (it's a junkyard where they pull cars apart) & but a rear wheel-hub assembly off a 2.0L Coupe/Tiburon or even Elantra... Then just swap the whole thing over. It should cost you less than $100 all up fing02.gif

Or maybe try to get in touch with one of the Greek members... I'm sure they know where to buy stuff for our cars.

The problem with our cars.. the rear wheel bearings are an intergral part of the hub.. you cannot just replace them without doing the entire hub. It is pricy at around $80 USD here in the states.. but it is VERY easy to replace. Pull the brakes, the cotter pin (toss and replace with a new one) and the big nut that holds it in place. Pull the old hub, install the new, Torque the nut, insert new cotter pin and reattach your brakes.. VERY easy.
