I think I've developed some slack in my e-brake cable. I looked underneath the car and the cable on the left-rear seems slack. I removed the center console and tightened the bolt there but it's not even left-right now. How do I shorten/tighten one side? Has one else had to do this?

I think my g/f drove a few feet with the e-brake on...

can't really tighten one side...

pop off your center console (6 screws and then slide it over your e-brake, after your shift knob and boot have already been removed). and look under where your elbow would usually rest, there's the e-brake cable adjustment! wink1.gif

...Clockwise to tighten (I BELIEVE), just in case, COUNT your 1/2 turns (it clicks each half turn) and if you went the wrong way go back to where it was. etc.)

yea, most likely the cable stretched out !!

I have had to tighten the cable twice already, I am always using my ebrake, I like to ebrake slide all to much, once you master it, its pretty fun.

I want to say its the cable that stretches, because I cant notice any warping of the arm that goes into the caliper.

I had to cut the spring that keeps tension on the adjustment bolt so that I could tighten the nut enough to the point where the ebrake is correctly adjusted.

I figure soon the ebrake cable will snap and I will be getting a new one soon.
