Warranty Query...
Hey guys, warranty question. I didn't find this out until after I bought my car, but was researching the warranty's on Hyundai's and my understanding is that they started the 10 year/100k mile warranty in 1999. If that's correct, why wouldn't mine be warrantied, seeing as how its a 2000? I thought warranties were transferable between owners as well? Thanks
First off, who said your's wasn't under warranty?
2nd yes, warranty is transferable (up here in Canada at least, I don't see why its not in the states)
And Three, the 10 year is not bumper to bumper, it's powertrain (tranny, engine, internal bits) bumper to bumper is only for 5 years.

hmmm... good question. I can see a different dealer putting that on a car because THEY do not want to warrenty a car. You best bet really.. talk to your local hyundai dealer where you intend to get work done and ask the general manager and get it IN WRITING!
ok let me clarify somethings on hyundai warranty
1. all warrantys start from the inservice date call up your local dealer and they can tell you this plus check for recalls at the same time
2. warranty stays with the vehicle
original owner gets
10 year/100k powertrain
5 year/60k bumper to bumper
5 year/ any milage towing to the nearest hyundai dealership
all owners after original purchaser gets the same except powertrain gets knocked down to a 5 year/60k

Like I said above.. if you did not buy it from a hyundai dealer.. than the "as is, no warrenty" was just their way of getting out of doing any warrenty work on the car.
