I've read a couple of different things. Some people say to use dish soap when washing your car before a wax job to remove any old wax, and others saying that the dish soap does more harm than good. How many people do use dish soap when washing their car before waxing? If you don't use dish soap, what do you use?

 

I use Meguiar's Gold Class car wash. If you want to do a GOOD job before waxing, get a clay bar kit.



I never EVER use dish soap on my car or on my wheels. Water + wipe dry on aftermarket wheels, never any chemicals for me.

Dish soap isn't good for your paint and can leave a film.

 

i'm cheap, so usually its the garden hose.

If you rinse it all off, I fail to see what harm dish soap could do. Liquid soap. Powdered soap would be . . . well, not good.

 

Like a dry chemical fire extinguisher?
