Uk hyundai Coupe Cup
Ok, so it's in its 3rd year, but it's starting to take off a bit. Rules are pretty simple, Gen1 or Gen2 (RD1 or2), all have same AVO coilovers, and federal tyres, minimum weight is 1150kg (approx 2535lbs), rollcage fitted for safety. Air filter choice and backbox choice is free, and strubraces optional (but unneeded due to stiffness of track set-up coilies and cage used as a brace). otherwise, they're stock.
On track they punch above their weight, especially in the wet. Higher tuned cars in higher classes don't have the performance advantage expected.

Awesome...but why in the world do all those FWD cars need the giant aluminum wings. Downforce on the back end is not your friend on a FWD vehicle.

Drag reduction likely. Depending upon position and height the dc can be reduced greatly increasing response on the track.
(From back in my rotary days) iirc the stock spoiler on the FC3S is to reduce dc rather than down force.

Rear end stability. Whilst not driving through the rear wheels, the back end can still become unstable under braking, lifting offor long flat high speed corners. Having driven that track in 3 different Gen1s (including the black and gold one in the pics), I can testify they are needed and work- don't drop times by a huge amount, but just the back doesn't feel light, and give you more confidence in the car. I can feel a difference between a stock gen1 rear spoiler and a F2 Evo spoiler on track. These cup cars are something else though to drive, it was somebody else's car, so I took it easy, and went through the high speed turn 1 20mph faster than when i pushed it in my F2 evo.
As for 1.6s and 1.8s, Uk never got the 1.8 option, and all the cars are 2.0s, F2s are allowed, though no F2 evos (so consequently no 1.8 cam), or F2 Evo front bumper due to weight and aerodynamic advantages.
