I've never been into what you would call "tuners", and i'm really liking the style of the tiburon. I'll be sitting on quite a bit of money when I get my signing bonus from the Army, and was thinking about finding a ncie Tib for ~5k then dropping another 5 on mods. Obviously I'll learn a lot as I go, just wanting your guys opinions although they may be biased smile.gif ) on how "easy" it is to play with these things. the tiburon just seems to fit my "good looking, cheap, and modifiable car" that I'm looking for.

Thanks

bK

If you want to learn and do stuff to a car, this is a good idea. If you just want a nice powerful car, i'd just spend the 10k on a better car

Spend an hour or 10 reading the threads on here asking the exact same questions, and you'll find everything you'd ever want to know.

I find that they are great starting Tuners. I bought my Tib knowing hardly anything about cars at all. Now I've installed my own body kit and all my own parts. These tiburons are great to learn on and lots of fun to mod.

Thats what I wanted to hear. I know enough where I can look at an engine and tell you most of whats going on, but I'm not that engine savvy.

what year Tiburon are you looking at? They're definitely great cars to learn and play with, in my opinion. When I bought mine in 2000, I couldn't tell you the difference between an automatic and a stick shift (literally). But, 3 years ago, I swapped my transmission from an auto to manual.

This forum is a GREAT resource for you to learn anything you want about your Tiburon. We have a ton of very knowledgeable and helpful members, and Hyundai has 'webtech' (hmaservice.com) - it's pretty much an online manual telling you anything from changing a light bulb to tearing apart your engine.

i agree with everyone else, tiburons are great starting cars, i got mine when i was 16, and learned sooo much about cars. Then i bought a second one and rebuilt it, and learned even more, even considered going to school for automobiles and whatnot. defiantly a great starter fing02.gif

I'm looking for anything between a 99-01. I'm obsessed with all black, so hopefully totally murdered out, then i'll worry about engine mods.

don't like the front bumper a lot. I'm looking for something to ride a little lower.
