Tiburon parts production
May sound silly, but are th American Tiburons built in America? Reason I'm asking goes back to the 1.8 pistons, I have looked inside a 1.8 Beta1, and the pistons inside are exactly the same as the ones in the 2.0s we have over here. Even a check with my local Hyundai dealers parts came back as both having the same pistons. I already know some other parts on American Tibs are different to Uk ones, could it be the case with the pistons, and also explain why people in the UK say its a waste of time.

i ordered my 1.8 pistons from kspec.

notice how the tops are raised.
The inner dome is what is raised. If you dont believe me by now ill take a picture of a 2.0 piston later unless someone can dig one up for me.

The dome is taller, a little. You have to have them side-by-side to do a proper comparison. If I could pry $500 out of my budget to build my engine I'd show everybody once and for all.

does anyone have a picture of them side by side then pleasse? As I've mentioned the part numbers are the same for both 2.0 and 1.8 over here, and even very experienced Hyundai UK management say they are, which makes me wonder, as I said earlier, if our engines are slightly different, i know we have different external bits, exhaust manifolds, and ECUs to the American versions. Can't see why they'd use different pistons though.
