Was the tiburon the first car with the beta engine?

Vehicle: 2001 Tiburon

Was the tiburon the first car with the beta engine?

I was wondering if the tib was the first car Hyundai put the beta engine in back in 1997 or if they used it (or a variant) in some other older car like the sontatas and scoupes?

My '96 Elantra GLS had a 1.8L Beta1. I believe that was the first model to use the Beta.
