my dealer is an hour away from me..and it would be a special order part, so if they sent it to me direct it would take about a week...is there something i could use in the meantime? or another idea?

You can get some high temp rubber gasket blank at most car shops.

Before I EVEN attempted to use a cereal box and gasket goo.. I would get some old fashioned Cork Gasket material and use that.
