Hey guys, I'm asking what kind of synthetic oil you use/know is best.

And before you tell me to go search, I did do some searching and I didn't find anything about oil comparisons or what kind of oil actually delivers.

Anyhow, I would like to know if some of the promises that a lot of the companies are claiming are true. Like Royal Purple for instance claims "proven increase in hp and torque" but is that really true?

On a sidenote though, there is a sale going on for both a pennzoil platinum (full synthetic oil) and a Q Horsepower (also full synthetic) oil for 4 bucks a qt. Now I'd like to know if anyone uses either of these oils and if they're any good at all. I am really leaning towards getting the Q...but they only have the 5w-30 and 10w-30 on sale....and I'm not sure if thats ok for my car. (I've been using 5w-20)

Thanks everyone for your help and information.

Mad john also recommended to me marvel mystery oil as well with an oil change. HLA's are a bit quieter now.

I use royal purple 10w-30 all year round.

My buddies got a built gt-s, he uses Q horsepower 10w-30 all year round and hasn't had any complaints yet, other than one of his comp rings is starting to leak after 5kmi lol, but hes running a stroked 13:1 comp at .040 over.
