I dunno what you people's fascination is with straight pipes... they pollute the environment, are annoying to you, me, and everyone else, and they do nothing power-wise. Any decent high-flow cat is going to get good air flow and still filter out some pollutants.

Inline-4 + Straight Pipes = Gay

Aggreed.. straight pipes are for race trak only cars.. and even then, a lot of them are muffled due to sound regs around the track. The only things a straight pipe can do for you is free up a HP or two and make your ears bleed

I can tell you it sounds like CRAP
Unless you want to wake up the neighbors and tell them you're coming from MILES away, and FOG for mosquitos while you're at it.

With straight pipes your driving will become safer. Cause when you will be driving everybody will know that you are going. And you would not need your horn any more - just rev up your engine to 4000 RPM.

If I were you I would put at least a performance mufler at the end.

yea one time i took my muffler off at the axle, to see how it would sound, then i ran a piece of crappy flex pipe out the side of my rim so that sut(dont think i spelled that right) wouldnt get all under my car and on everything. So then i started it and reved it once to about 4.5k and turned it off and within 4 minuts a cop was at my house. I almost got cited on noise pollution. But it sounded awuful and thats with a high flow cat

well, thanks for the advice, those answers were pretty much what I was looking for. Although im thinking about doing a rally style project to my tib, I will probably just go with a cat back exhaust system with a deep sounding muffler since you all are saying it sounds like crap with just the straight pipe. I just want my tib to have that aggressive powered engine sound. if u kno wut i mean, but

Thanks for the help.

And Im not sure if I will turbo, or supercharge it. I know that turbo is more fit for drag racing, but I am into canyon, and rally style racing more. So a supercharger sounds like the best idea for the low torque punch. Although i really luv how turbo's sound 02.gif
