I have a 2001 Tiburon, automatic trans with 70k miles on it and no mods.

i'm not sure what would be causing this but when i accelerate over 60mph my steering wheel vibrates quite rapidly. it doesnt seem to pull to either side when driving over 60mph. i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if anyone could help me identify what the problem might be and if it was a serious issue.

thanks

Its not a big deal, your wheels probably just need to be balanced.
If its not shaking to bad, then you wont hurt anything by driving it without getting them balanced.
any shop should be able to balance your wheels for you.

I had that problem as well and started a topic about it, there was a lot of feedback, try searching for it. But yeah that's probably what it is, there not aftermarket so it's probably not your problem, but a guy a while back said he tightened his lugs and it fixed it.

Check your front tires too. Tread and wear. They might be just really worn down and need to be replaced. If you haven't bought new tires in awhile, that could be your issue.

Check tire pressure, tire tread, make sure lugs are tight, inspect the rims, may be cracked or bent...

If all that checks out OK, it could be a bad wheel bearing maybe?

I would definitely take a look at this ASAP though, you don't want a lug nut falling off at 60mph..
