Ok lets start by saying i have the same problem that others here have had, and still do i assume. ROUGH IDLE!
Now i did searchs may times again and again to see if i missed something. I noticed this mostly after installing Kspec motor mounts. Bad vibes, so i adjusted the idle up a bit to about 850 lets say. ( yes my idle was low, but that was covering this problem up) Well it fixed the vibes i was getting at a stop light in idle. But, now i had opened up another problem. When i have to brake hard, and push in the clutch the rpm's drop to about 500 ( this takes place before i come to a complete stop, once stopped it goes back to normal) and the car will shake, like it wants to stall. This bothers me because one of these times it will stall and not start. Its just my luck. I hope i explaned the problem well enough. Her is a list of recent new parts i bought since the idle problem started.

oil changed 2000kms ago
new pcv
new air filter
new TPS
new IAC
Cleaned TB ( was very dirty mind you)
adjusted throttle cables
ground kit ( checked all of them, they are strong ground points)
voltage stabilizer
alternator ( from junk yard about 2 months ago, was told only had 54,000km on it. it looked almost new)
recent red top battery

These are the most i can think of at the moment. I ran the car, checked the voltage off and running, and everything was in spec, even with stuff turned on. Any help would be useful seeing how i've about had it, and am running out of options. Thanks

it could be your MAF. try unpluging it. it should run unpluged (probably super rich though) - if the problems seem to go away, then replace it.

Why set the idle so low?

Its probably the Idle Bypass hoses are dirty/clogged/broken or whatever.

If its not, just set the idle to 1k and call it a day.
