Ok here is my story. I had to jump my car at one point. After the jump there was an AirBag light that stayed on and is still on. After a while of driving the battery gets drained HARDCORE. As in my headlights stop working, my guages stop functioning, and basically anything electrical stops coming on. Then i stop the car and it wont restart. I got a new batttery and it seemed to have solved the problem, but the AirBag light was still on and the same thing happened again. Battery drained WHILE driving. When the battery gets really drained the CEL comes on and thats just not good. So right now i have a new battery but my car wont start without a jump. Then, when it gets really bad, the car will SERIOUSLY bog down and almost stall if i even attempt to put on any electrical devices. I even stalled it once in 2nd gear simply by pulling on my high beams, the car just bogged hard and stalled. I am thinking its either the ground or the alternator...any ideas guys?

Default Serious Electrical Problems

Test the voltage at the battery when the car is running. You'll see if you alternator is dead. IIRC, a good battery is ~12.90v, and with the engine running you should be at ~14v.

You'll have to go to the dealer to have the airbag light reset. That sucks, but that's the only way.

everytime i put on more watts, my engine does that too! especially when it's cold. it doesn't stall though because it's an auto...

so the only way to reset that light is the dealer eh? so a new battery will eventually solve that problem? i will check to see the voltage on my battery today. thanks! 8)

i don't know what the deal with the rest of your power is... might have to do with the power output of the battery. you would have to get a higher voltage battery. check to see what kind of battery you have and then post it back here.

Sounds like either a voltage regulator or alternator problem.

Yup I think it's the alternator. Did it start up once and then die again?

The same thing happened to me. I was driving late at night when I noticed my headlights starting to dim, my interiors went next, and then I lost power. I would give it some gas but nothing happened, then it stalled out. I waited and tried to start it. No luck. Waited a bit longer, started it up and drove for about another 10 minutes. Then it died again. I replaced the alternator and haven't had a problem in 2 years.

Please go replace your alternator. CLASSIC alternator problem if I've ever heard one.
