Default Rust inside of jackpoint

There is a great proportion of rust crumbling from inside of my jackpoints, especially the rear where the skirt goes around it. Anyone else have this problem or know what to do about it?

Happens to all rd's that go through a lot of winters/rain.

Only solution is to cut out all rust, and weld new patches in. Trust me, I went through it all.

i took out a handfull from each side! i'm glad to know i'm not the only one with this problem. it's BS because it's happening to the elantra too.

i thought it would require cutting out, but is it a necessity to have new patches welded in? how much do you think a job like that goes for? how critical is it, can it wait?

A job done right can cost up to 500$. You don't necc. need new patches welded in unless you like holes lol.

It's not a major concern, but something to keep in check so it doesn't spread.

Same thing on both mine. Got quoted about $600 to repair both sides from a reputable welding shop.
