the metal strip that runs along the weather strip under the hood is rusted to hell on my car. it seems like the rust has migrated to the under edge of my hood. does anyone know if this is covered under hyundai's warranty? i just wanted to get feedback before i waste my time with a dealer. thanks smile.gif

Im 90% sure its not covered under warranty, but the same thing happened to mine. Go to your dealer and just ask for the seal that goes under the hood. cost me $25 and was a since to put on

it's not just rust on the metal strip. it's also on the edge of my hood! which is really pissing me off. i'm thinking about having my hood professionaly sanded and repainted.

well, look at it this way.. it will cost you nothing to have the dealership at least look at it and give you their opinion as to wether it is covered by warrenty or not.

Or, and I know this is crazy, you can look at your warranty and read it.

yea, I made that mistake myself. The paint on my tib was NEVER very good. Several areas of orange peel, cracks, and bullseyes... I found out when I hit 35,000 miles that Hyundai had a 30,000 mile paint warrenty. Not that I would have taken it to my local dealer.

i've read it. it's not too clear. i just know i'll get pissed at the dealer and be in a bad mood if i take it there. they'll tell me my headers and magnacor plug wires made the hood rust. damned aftermarket parts.
