Im having the same problem. When i sit at stop lights it starts to shake and rumble pretty bad. But thers also a slight knocking noise that i cant figure out where it's coming from. Any idea's other than a voltage stabilizer would help

Earlier today, I paid close attention to my revs at idle when turning stuff on & off, opening & closing windows & whatnot... Never a noticeable drop in revs. Also, as soon as AC was switched on the revs would rise slightly. Same goes for just the fan on it's own.

I'm still thinking it's just a grounding issue that you guys are having...

If not, it's a long shot but maybe these problems could be attributed to your idle air control actuator being stuffed.

No, you should be idling at about 850.

Webtech says Idle Speed is 800 +/- 100 RPM

so normal idle range is 700-900 RPM.

Guys if your car shakes and runs like ass at idle, chances are your sh!tty ground points have become even more sh!tty over time. Your car needs better grounding. Look into a voltage stabilizer + grounding unit.

It'll cost about 150-200 bux for something nice, but its well worth it. Your windows will roll faster, your headlights wont dim when the A/C goes on, shoot my sunroof didn't even open without help until I installed my Versa-Cruise unit from Apex-i. The radio should even sound better.

Our ground sucks in tibs.

I realized the grounding sucked when I saw the engine mounts were entirely rubber and the radiator was completely isolated from ground on the chassy.....

So i added 2AWG battery terminals to my engine (front lifting loop), and my battery (neg terminal) to chassy ground.

What do you mean by grounding unit?

Is a voltage stablizer the same as a capacitor? IE.. Resists changes to amperage therefore managing voltage? I already have a cap on a 2 AWG wire connected to my battery. i'm still looking into getting my voltage stablizer from iraq.

Maybe i should add a 2AWG to my alternator/battery connection?

The main thing that tees me off is when i'm sitting there enjoying my music and my car rumbles over my 12" sub when my coolant fans kick on.

Tanc: webtech says to tighten motor mounts.

I'm going to the shop right now to fix the problem. I think the motor mounts might need to be tightened, and i'm going to clean my intake/TB, also take apart my dash to upgrade to brighter LEDs. I won't be happy until my vehical gets shut down by the FAA because it causes navigation problems with airlines.
