removal of 01 tiburon dashboard
What are you doing? Why do you need the entire dash off?
My smart ass answer is to search - I know it's been covered before with pictures. But, you're new, and I have time, so I'll help. wink.gif
Hyundai has published a great resource for owners. Check out HMAservice.com - this website shows you how to do everything, from changing a headlight to removing the engine. You can sign up for free on your own, or you can use one we've setup.

First, pull up on the corners of your shifter surround. Only clips are holding it in, just pull up on the sides with your fingers, careful not to break off a corner.
Now, pull the radio surround straight out towards the shifter. You may have to mess with the cigarette lighter door to get it pulled out all the way. A plug is holding the cigarette lighter in there I think.
Then, there are a variety of screws you'll have to get to. One has a cover over it to the right of the steering wheel. Pop the cover off and remove the screw. You'll also have to remove the screw near the interior light dimmer switch.
I'm going from memory since I haven't pulled the dash in several years and I no longer have one in my garage. Just check for all visible screws. There are probably screws on the side that are only accessible with the door open. Once all screws are out, pull from the top forward.
If you're removing the dash entirely, not simply pulling it away, you'll need to disconnect the heater cable that goes from the control knob to under the dash. Get in the floorboard, above the accelerator and find a yellowish triangle - turn the knob on the temp control to notice it moving. Just take the wire out of it so it's disconnected.
I can't think of anything else holding it in. Might have to pop the covers off the steering column - just clips, no screws that I remember.

Here is a good website also: http://www.newtonnet.co.uk/coupe/ser...chanical.htm#7 It's posted as a sticky in the Hyundai Tiburon forum
START @ #4 , SKIP #6, I don't think you have to do anything with the steering wheel as it suggests. You don't have to remove the entire crash pad, depending on what you're doing, just remove the front part of it.

This link shows you how to dismantle everything, but I don't think you need to do everything.

The only answer is to search. There's pictures, diagrams, and full writeups that have been done. I know, because I've written it up at least twice.
Once you get the shift and radio surrounds off (no screws) there's 7 screws that have to come out.

^^ That's only if you want to completely remove the bottom portion of the dash. I've done extensive work on mine and have only needed to loosen it. If you wanted to remove that piece, then yes, you'd need to unscrew the hood release and OBD port. But there should be no reason to need to remove it.
Hi guys, I had the same question, but for a GK. I went to the HMA service site, but cannot seem to find the dash removal instructions. I have an 06-blown passenger airbag so the dash needs to come out. I see crash pad, and console, but no dash when selecting interior components, am I doing something wrong?
