I replaced my belts recently. My power steering belt is noisy. I spray it down with belt dressing and the noise goes away for about 1 hour, then it comes right back. Any suggestions?

A squeeling belt is different from a noisy belt. A squeeling belt is caused by the rubber getting hard or the tension getting loose. I have a noisy belt. Squeeling can be cured by spraying with belt dressing.
It makes a kind of a shhhhh sound until I spray it with belt dressing. Then the noise comes back
I've repaced the belt and it still does it.

What kind of belt are you using? It might just be the nature of the beast, Im running a dayco polycog and have no issues.
If you're looking for a a permanent fix you could probably glue some LED's to a midget and put him under the hood to continuously spray dressing like an air freshener.

Mine would squeal and make noise like you say (esp in the winter), until i got a different brand (goodyear gatorback, from autozone)
Belt dressing never helped me with anything, the noise would come back in at most a day

I think Goodyear makes some belts designed to be quiet-running. I got one for my power steering, it had grooves across the width on the back. It ran quiet till it started to squeal, so it's off.

I'm using the dayco polycog too! It sounds like what you'd expect from a bad bearing or something, but as soon as I spray belt dressing on the belt, it just goes away!

This puzzles me.

Me thinks it's not the belt, it's the bearings..
I have a similar but much worse squeak when it's cold. I tried spraying brake cleaner on the inside of the pulleys and on the belt, and the squeak kinda went away for a few seconds then came back right away. I tried spraying wd40 near the PS shaft (through the pulley, around the center), and the squeak was completely gone. So it's the bearings and I expect it will come back soon, time for a new pump..
I suspect that when you spray that belt dressing (or when I sprayed the cleaner), a small amount of liquied gets around on PS shaft and quiets the bearings for a while.

No sir. It was the belt. I replaced the crappy Dayco Polycog belt, which I purchased upon a good recommendation from another user, and the sound went away. When you spray a belt with belt dressing and the sound goes away, it's the belt. The Dayco Polycog belt is too thin and sits down inside the groove too far. I went to the dealership and purchased a stocker and it sounded great afterwards. It was the belt.
