RD1 upgrades
I recently bought a 1998 Tiburon Fx. I have scoured and have not found what I am looking for. Is there a market for performance parts for the RD1? Maybe an intake manifold, motor mounts, light weight pulleys or ignition upgrades?

The only ignition upgrade would be wires and iridium/platinum plugs if you don't have already, very small gain if any.
Motor mounts are pointless on an NA setup and give you shitty vibes , and no available intake manifold anymore
Your pretty much limited to intake/exhaust and enjoy the slow
Unless you want to dump more money than the cars worth into a turbo system

^ Be VERY careful with shark racing. Chances are 50/50 that you'll get your part within 10 years. lol
If all else fails, there's always ebay! But the RD series has a lot as far as performance stuff goes. You just have to dig a little to find it, from a good place that wont take your money.
Here's another too:

But contact them first to make sure they actually have the part you want before ordering, or else like Shark Racing...you could be waiting a long time.

There are Millions of parts for the RD. You just need to do your research on how to install them as they are not always bolt-on.

I'm just gonna go out and say that I have had no issues ordering from shark racing in the past, always got my part in a reasonable time....that was also 7+ years ago though.
Had more problems with Jay and SFR, but he's got good products and I always eventually got what I ordered.
Also haven't heard about Mike/Importshark in a while but he used to have a lot of stuff.

I saw his cameleon Gen Coupe at Wekfest last year, didn't see him anywhere though.
I'm with visionz in that I would search eBay first and make sure to do a PayPal transaction when you do purchase parts from anywhere.

The three best upgrades when I was N/A was the Airram intake, fidanza light weight flywheel, and forged light weight rims. They seemed to make the biggest difference that was noticeable. Lighten the load of the car with a carbon hood, odessy battery. Light weight pulleys are good. CAI of course. EBay ones work just as well as the expensive ones.

Awesome input. Now JonGTR, what kind of upgrades would not be bolt on? I had searched some parts numbers under the hood and noticed that Volvo has a few of the same stuff...anything that interchanges between them or other vehicles? I have a few more questions, but I will try my hand at using the searching tips I read up on.
