First off, if its been covered before, sorry. I'm sure someone else has thought of this, but I searched around and didn't come up with anything, so feel free to link another thread with some pertinent information!

Personally I love the back end of the RD1, its curvy tail lights are just so much better than the RD2's blocky ones. Plus the spoiler looks quite a bit better. But on the other hand, I like the look of the RD2's front end quite a bit better than the RD1s. The extra curves on the hood, the circle lights, and better lookin' fogs too. I think putting the RD1's back-end with the RD2s front-end would be a pretty sweet lookin' car.

So, I'm pretty much going to have to replace the front bumper cover and the hood. So I've been looking it over, and it occurred to me thats pretty much the whole front end. The fenders from RD1 to RD2 are supposed to be the same, as with engine bay, so being that I'm replacing these parts anyways... (my headlights got cracked, but some epoxy fixed em up, and the fogs are burnt out n heavily oxidized)

So replacing the Hood, the Front Bumper Cover, Headlights, Fogs would pretty much be a full conversion...

Anyone see any potential problems that I could be overlooking?

I'm assuming the electrical hookups are the same between generations, or are pretty easy to rewire.

Hood looks to have no problems...

Bumper reinforcement is shown to be held on with a different bracketing system. I was thinking to use the RD1 reinforcement, but push it far back on the brackets as possible (there is a bit of tolerance in the positioning of the brackets) then try and hollow out the RD2 absorber so that it'd fit around the RD1 reinforcement and still provide the required headlight support. (The RD1 has lil inserts styrofoam to support it's headlights)

Your thoughts are welcome!

I know you said you searched, but search some more, or search using different terms. Full lists of what's needed are all over the site, in several places.

I'd search just using "conversion".

Closed.
