Alright, so I'm going to be hitting the drag strip for the first time ever in about 2 weeks (sept 11), and I want to know if there are any mods I could get done by that time for under $200 that would improve my time. Please have a free-for-all with suggestions wink1.gif .

BTW...Current Engine mods are GT headers and an AEM CAI...not much I know...lol

um...catback.

put new oil in your engine before racing.

MSD ignition

type R high perforamnce vinyl sticker .50 cents each. and ONE is good for up to 169 extra whp. for $200 dollars you could get 400 stickers.....imagine the power.

offtopic.gif sorry
make sure to remove sparetire/jack and rear seats. seats take 10 minutes and maybe even passenger seat if you're not taking anyone. your car and your timeslip will thank you.
only have 1/4 tank of gas in car

Throttle Body? wouldn't really help your times too much but it's a mod to consider.

OOOOOH! I know. Here is the perfect mod you MUST GET.
PHOENOLIC SPACERS. The cool the intake manifold by spacing it further away from the black and the throttle body with spacers. these spacers block heat from both sides of the intake manifold making for colder air going into the engine.

Proven, and there happens to be a GB, whaddya know. LOL

^^How difficult an install is the cam, and how long do you think it'd take to get here/and put in. Also, any tools other than wrenches, ratchets, screwdrivers and basics like that for the install?

Well since your launch can determine a lot of things when it comes to a race i would say try and find something that will help you right off the line. Lightweight crank pulley. i know that someone already mentioned that, but from experience it will help you in first gear, so i had to reiterate it.
