Problems With Spark Plugs?
About 3/4 years ago i had a CEL. My car felt like it was bogging when i shifted gears. I took it in to Hyundai cause i needed my timing belt done and while they did that they checked the CEL. They said it was my plugs and conveniently changed them for me and charged me out the arse. It fixed the problem until yesterday when i threw a CEL and had the same symptoms. Would this be my plugs again? How would i be able to tell? I wouldn't have a problem doing it myself, im just not all to sure what to be looking for.
First, I would go to autozone or checker and get the code read. they usually do it for free. If its the same symptoms and it popped the same code, then change your plugs and you should be on your way.
How often do you change your plugs? I am little anal about it, I change mine every 6k miles. Every other oil change. Especially now that the car is boosted. Its a pretty cheap and easy thing to do to keep your car running in tip top condition.

should replace spark plugs every 30k, according to Mitchell's. Check your owner's manual if you still have it. Use the severe driving schedule, since NOBODY falls under the "normal driving" category. Not even granny.

LOL, yah, they say shift under 1400rpms or something ridiculous.
You definitely want to get it checked, it could be something totally unrelated. Dont get arse raped again tho, do it yourself, itll take 5 minutes even if you dont know what your doing.
And i do what tibbytib does, you kinda feel compelled to when your boosted haha.

ok i havent been able to get to autozone or anyplace for that matter, nor have I been able to change my plugs, just due to my crazy work schedule. however last night my CEL disappeared? i dont think this has ever happened before with me. anybody know why?

Alex^^ I hear you man! Hey, what do you gap your plugs to? I've been having to gap them down quite a bit (.033) to avoid misfires and I'm wondering if maybe my coils are getting weak.
Your light disappeared because it takes a certain number of times the computer sees the certain parameter it's looking for to set the light. Then, it takes a certain number of good trips to turn the light off. That means key on, get to operating temperature and closed loop, run for a while with no problems, then key off. If you have an intermittent problem, such as an intermittent misfire, emissions problem, etc, they can all turn the engine light on, then off again and leave you scratching your balls trying to figure out why it doesn't know what it wants...
