I installed my new altezza tails, and they look great. Everything was perfect and wonderful and I was a happy little Canadian. >_<

So while I had the car in the shop (at work), I figured i'd do a few other things. My passenger side front marker light was burnt out so I unscrewed the casing, pulled out the wedge bulb, pushed in the new one, and screwed it back on. I started the car, turned on the lights, and noticed my new problem.

None of the lights on the passenger side are working. Marker light, corner light, taillight. Even the little light over the license plate on that side doesn't work. Drivers side lights work fine. Passenger side signal light works, but when I stop signaling - nothing.

I checked all the fuses, none of them are blown. I don't know what could have possibly caused this. Everything worked fine after putting in the new taillights, they all stopped after I screwed with that little marker light.

....any ideas?

check fuses in engine bay and passenger compartment. But do it with a multimeter or a lightbulb and a 9V battery. Fuses won't always explode when they blow, they can look just fine if they blow RIGHT at their rating.

Hmm. I didn't know that. I don't have a multimeter, but I do have a few packs of spare fuses. I'll try replacing them one by one in the morning and see if I come up with anything.
I hate perpetual winter in Canada. I want to move to Nevada. >_<

edit: Why does everyone say the fuses on the passenger side? Is there a secret fuse panel that I don't know about? In my car there's one in the engine bay, and one on the drivers side just under the hood release latch.

not on the passenger side. in the passenger compartment, the interior.

DTN said passenger compartment, not passenger side...its meant to differentiate between the one in the engine bay and the one inside the vehicle or the passenger compartment (where people/passengers ride).

Ah. Passenger compartment! o.o
Yeah, I get it. I always misinterpreted that phrase, and assumed that it was on the drivers side in canada and the passenger side in the USA. *shrug* Makes sense now.
I always refer to the interior of the car as, "Funkytown." tongue.gif

In the US "funkytown" is a little more specific than just the interior of the car...here it is the equivilent of what you Canadians call the backseat. lmao.gif

So my driveway was all plowed out when I woke up this morning. YAY for the plowman. Got my car back into my garage and I checked the fuses. You were right, the fuse was blown.
But, when I replaced it, it blew again as soon as I turned the lights on. Went through 3 fuses. Do you think I might have a short somewhere? If so.. WTF.

Definately a short. You need to check the seating of the lights in the sockets. It may be that it's not fully twisted or there's a piece of debris in there causing conductivity between hot and ground. Also, while you're doing that, check for frayed wires, improper bulb type and any other problems that just don't look right.
