Power Steering Pump
how do i tell if a pump is toast?? i reinstalled power steering into my car and now car idles lumpy and smokes(very light white smoke). cant tell if the smoke is coming from the head or PS pump. any ideas? thanks
Ive got an extra one lying around if you need it. Did you drive it at all after you changed it? I would think the steering would be effected if the pump was bad. Is it leaking any PS fluid?
i will work on it some more later today or tomorrow..
i had the ps removed for a couple years and now that everything is installed it turns much easier, no leaks just smokes. and i havent driven it, its still on stands.
tibbychick how much would you want for that pump??

$20 shipped? Too much? I'll go lower, lol. Otherwise I was gonna throw it out. There's nothing wrong with it, my ex just insisted on taking off my old tib and I never ended up needing it.
Make sure its the pump though first. It could be something silly like Patreezy said. If you could give it a test run that'll definetly tell you if the pump or belt is going.
