Porting Intake Manifold
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (XDGT03 @ Oct 5 2005, 10:51 PM)</div><div class='quotemain'>Yes it can where there is a single valve. But when you have multiple valves you have the "hump" that begins the division of the air flow leading to the multi valves. Extrude honing will remove this hump. That may not be a bad thing if you are also porting the head and remove the hump on the head side.</div>
I noticed you have an XD. I don't know about US spec RDs but my IM runners do not have those "humps" in them... Neither do the ports on the head. Mine are shaped like the cutouts in the gaskets in your pics fing02.gif
Also, I seriously doubt the extrude hone process would remove that much metal anyway.

I ported my intake and could do it for like $150 for everyone on RDT, along with porting a TB hole to 61-62mm. It takes some time to do it, but I'd be willing to do it for you guys smile.gif
If anyone wants to see pictures of my work, just email or IM me.

no humps = beta1
humps = beta2
no humps = beta1
humps = beta2
I'm not gonna mess with TB because I don't want to make new butterflies.
To open the TB hole, port and polish the runners, would take about 3-5 hours of work or so. Maybe more, maybe less. So, pretty much a full day I guess. I'd recommend you get a spare manifold though and send that to me, so you won't have any down time.

So the Airram does NOT come with the humps.
Would you suggest porting the beta1 head side and shaving those humps so it is like the beta 2?
how bad is the small "wall" gonna screw up my airflow?
