OK wife got me a CAI from Ebay as a suprise gift.
Put it on and sounds great, but about 2 weeks after having it on we went out tonight and the car almost completely overheated.

Help I need to know what I need to double check. The car was fine now just all the sudden bang overheating. Plus this is the first time that I have drove the car for more than 15 minutes with the CAI on it........

did you reset your ecu? (disconnect neg. battery terminal for 10 minutes before starting car with new AEM...)

if not do that right now. check your coolant? any slight overheating tendencies before install?

The CAI and overheating issue are most probably not related. Check your coolant, try touching both coolant hose to see if they're hot (careful; they're HOT!) and then come back here.

It's quite possible.

Do a search for "Overheat", you'll be suprised all the info out there.

Same with "ECU Reset"

Mine is kida acting like Majitibs did....but it was overheating even when I was driving down the road not stopped at a light.
OK on mine it has been overheating but not at a stop just driving in general and relly hot at that. I got a new t-stat and about to replace it so I flushed the radiator while I was in there. Also the overflow was bubbling and spewed coolent out of there as well. When I flushed the radiator it was very very clean. With this info anyone got any ideas?

Most likely not your ECU

-Get a Rad flush, when was the last time your coolant was flushed?
-Make sure the coolant is at the correct level / mixture.
-Go get your thermostat check, like you buddy suggested.

OK so I did all of that and ran it for like 20 minutes and the temp never went past half way. Looks like everything is running fine now. To make sure you only take the neg term off and then step on brake to reset ECU correct?
