well.. mine will not fit in the spare wheel .... but the like I said, the 675 cca will...

but, mine has a foot print of 8 by 7 3/4 inches at it's widest points...
and they just came out with a new mount for my battery..

it is a little larger, being NHRA approved, it's foot print is 7 3/8 by 6 7/8 and the top is 9 5/16 by 7.

The smaller battery, the 680cca is MUCH smaller and it's mount is thin wall aluminum and availible in brushed or anodized black..so it only comes in at:
9 1/2 by 6 3/4 by 3 1/8

For the optima lovers... they also make this:

675 CCA's is big enough right?

Also, do they have a mount for it? I gotta check that website out.

What's the height on yours total, including the mount?

IM me if you can MAD.

ok.. went out and measured it this morning.. 5 1/2 inches from bottom of the mount to the top.. might want to allow almost 6 inches to give the terminals clearance. Personally, I have been very happy with this battery, but if I had to do it over, I would have gone with the 680cca and stuffed between the inner and outer fender out of sight. Unfortunatly, my old battery had just died and I was doing this quickly and did not have time for such a mod.

So the 680 would be big enough for our cars? What about reserve for stereo abuse?

LOL

Wish they had a nicer mount for it.

Hell just get one of the badges from Arctic's design and paste it on there.

Are we sure that Mad-Machines won't fit? It should if you put it in the center. Then you could mount the amps/whatever on the sides cause they're smaller.

now that I understand what REDZ is doing.. mine would fit in the spare tire well without the spare being in it.

I also JUST measured the room between the spare tire and the cover.. mine might just fit into that space, but it would be tight and you might not have a way to secure it properly.

Pic for you... my battery, the 925cca in it's aluminum mount:

I put my Optima in the tire well. It was between two 12" subs near the back end. The only way it would fit was on its side and I used some 1" spacer blocks all around the base to raise it.

I got my Optima from Pep Boys for like $110 with tax. Military gets a discount, I forgot what it was.
