new owner, need advice
Hey, I just bought a 2001 tiburon a few weeks ago, and its entirely stock, but I don't want it to remain as such for long. I'm pretty new to hyundais and the tiburon itself more specifically, and i was wondering what the first and easiest engine/tranny mod is that anyone could offer me to look into? thanks
Take off your resonator, if you live in a warm climate (like Arizona laugh.gif ) do the throttle body coolant bypass, and if you dare, take off the valve spring and restrictor plate from your slave cylinder.
Some people question the last mod, so it's at your own discretion. I've had the mod done for the last 3-4k miles with no problems, and I like the tighter feel of my clutch.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (CyberShark)</div><div class='quotemain'>I would start off with an AEM intake...or if it's too expensive for you, you could alwats start off with an ebay intake.</div>
hum... I've got an ebaytake and love it but can't seem to find any on there right now. I actually got a injen copy ebaytake, while you might loose a couple of hp compared to the aem I think it's worth it since the intake doesn't hang as low(little more insurance against hydrolock). I guess thats the reason aem has the bypass and injen doesn't. laugh.gif
btw, the easiest way to tell if it's an aem or injen copy is the injen one should come with the elbow that connects to the throttle body.

man, my adivice, is run, run really fast, or get hooked, dont go inbetween, With the AEM, i got one, but i am going to turbo in the spring, and they become useless, so i wasted my money, my suggestion is figure out what u want, if ur going turbo route, dont bother with headers and intake, cuz they are useless when u get the turbo... so figure how far u wanna go, from there u can plan it out alot better then i did...

I wish someone had given me this advise when I started. I have spent about $1000 on NA mods that will be usless once the turbo comes.
