Ok so here is the question i live in northeast PA where your inspection on yout car must pass an emmisions test. now if i put my new headers on it will be removing that fron cat. now the header came with a new cat but it is just a straight pipe. so does this mean i wont pass inspection

We don't have emissions here in Manitoba, but I'm 99% sure you won't pass without a CAT. You might be able to buy a replacement CAT and place it after the header....

Nope, just one.

I suggest you go through emissions before you change your header.

You WILL throw a CEL if you remove the cat, even with an o2 simulator. Trust me, I did.

You will also fail emissions if you go through with no cat. I believe PA emissions are rather strict.

I just put a cat in the middle of the exhaust system and relocated the downstream o2 sensor to after the new cat, no probs since.

u should be able to have your local muffler shop cut the stock CAT off and u can just have it re-welded downstream on your new piping

I had to replace my cat because mine failed the test. I went with a Magnaflow high flow cat and it passed. It also comes with a warranty.

guys he has a 2001 it has 2 cats.

leave the second on in place rather than use that cat replacement (test pipe). then just move that second 02 sensor after the cat and you'll be fine. (probably need to have an exhaust shop do it unless your good with welding)
