I everyone ! Im new here and want to know if my car is ``slow`` ..
Its a 2003 tiburon 4 cylinder with 155 000 km on it.
So when it was stock I was doing 17,2 ..
After headers ( OBX ) and exhaust ( custom 2,5 inch ) I ran 16,6 seconds
Now I have A cold air intake. By what im hearing, I will make 16,5 if im lucky lol ..
So is 16,5 acceptable for this kind of car ? What do others do with them??

Is it an auto or standard? Those sound like auto times. Best thing you can do is boost it. A good turbo kit will run you between 2500-3000 to get started. If thats too much, invest in a nitrous kit for $500, throw a 50 or 60 wet shot in and you'll be low 15's...maybe even high 14's if you're lucky.

Track times will vary with altitude, temperature, wind speed and direction (a little on that one, lol), etc. I would say not horrible times, but not that great for a 4cyl tib. I think you learning how to drive at the track helped bring the times down more than those mods to be honest. A ton of time is lost in the first 60 feet if you are doing it wrong.
Post the slips from the runs, not calling BS on the times. The 60ft and mph would tell us a bit more about what is going on during those passes.
(If he wants a fresh start ill give him one)

I know who this is but to answer your question there so many factors that can change your time like elevation, temp etc. Last year when my 98 Tib was fully stock with 116,000 original miles and a badly slipping clutch got 16.9 on quarter mile so I'd say your a bit slow for a 160HP car when I got only 140HP but also weight might be a big factor
wow wonder whats with the slow times people, i ran that kind of times at 8000 feet high
ever try running while breathing through a straw? thats what its like at my old elevation

Tibbyturbo: Yea well weight is probably the big problem.. The difference between are two cars is like 300 pounds I think ! So that 20 hp more is not really helping loll:p
I've heard people with older tibbys saying they run 16 flat stock??
