MSD Ignition System for Tibs ??????????
Multiple Spark Dischage (MSD) makes an ignition controller for distibutorless cars. The model that is applicable to the Tiburon and Elantra is the MSD DIS-2.
Unfortunately, on a mostly stock car (even including bolt-on parts) the MSD does very little of anything for performance. It's mostly there for emissions, fuel efficiency and engine idle quality.
This isn't limited to Tiburons or Hyundais -- nearly every car, unless it comes with a crappy ignition system, gets almost ZERO from upgraded ignition until you start going crazy with upgrades. And by crazy I mean huge turbo kits, full-on-race-only NOS setups, normally aspirated motors on the bleeding edge of sanity, et al.
You *do* know that the 400HP all-wheel-drive Libra Rally Tiburons and Elantras use the 100% stock ignition system, right? If they don't need it, I'm betting you're ok to stick with stock too.

Thanks for the info. My aftermarket mods are pretty much all bolt-on so it wouldn't do me much good. If the rally Tibs are using the stock ignition system than I know stock is good for me, cause I am no where near the performace level they are in. Thanks for the info, asking questions definatly saved me some money this time.
