This weekend I'm pulling off my front and rear mounts and doing home-made mounts (filling with urethane.
Is there a specific type of urethane that I should use?

www.mcmaster.com has it but I can't find the link to the exact product. They have it in various densities (harndess).

Can I not just use "regular" window urethane (like used for windshields) (in a tube like silicone)
Thise I think would be more accessable and easier to work with ... but will it do the same job?

the problem with using regular "window" urethane is it's unknown hardness. When you make up motor mounts, you want them to be of a specific density/hardness. If they are too soft, the stock rubber would be stiffer. If they are too hard, the driving experience would be too harsh.

I would say you would want them somewhere between 90 and 100 on the Shore A scale or somewhere between 40 and 50 on the Shore D scale.
I'm still trying to find that link that allows you to mix 2 substances to create your own mount materal. You mix different amounts of the 2 substances to alter the 'shore' hardness.

I'm going to try it this weekend using the Windshield urethane ... it is about an 80a shore but just harder to work with ... I'll let everyone know how it goes.
I can't find the liquid stuff anywhere here in the city and I don't wanna order it online and have to deal with the border BS that'll be associated with bringin that accross.

eh, the urethane catsing kinda is a bitch to work with.
If you dont mix is perfectly you will get inconsistently.
Just goto Advanced auto buy a tube of 3m window weld. $10
Goto walmart buy a chaulk gun $2
You and you friends now have stiffer motor mounts - priceless.
