Default Messurements and angles of tib engines (picture help)

Hey, im currently fitting a tib engine in my UK LC. (2002)

Only 1 Mount seem tobe fitting. (go figure)

Front,Rear & top Gearbox Mounts need to be made.

Can anyone give me any advice on this ? Iv been welding for a good few years since i was younger but never worked on mounts.

Do i have to make them to tilt the engine or Level or do tib engines slant ect.

Any advice or links will be very helpful.

Okay, it depends on what gear you are running. Did you originally have a 1.3 sohc? Were the front and rear mounts on the gearbox, or on the engine block itself? What gearbox are you using now?

When I put a beta II with alpha gearbox into my LC, it JUST BARELY fit with the original accent LHS, front and rear mounts. I slotted the mounting holes on the three gearbox mount, and that freed up an additional 7-8mm of clearance. HOWEVER - you will still be limited by your axles. The best solution I came up with was to swap the LHS inner CV cap (when you take the boot off, this is the metal cap that actually clips into the transmission) with one from an auto LC, and this made the whole shaft shorter. That gave me a bit more freedom to move the engine over, but then that is stretching the RHS axle.

Now I'm not a fabricator, so that's the best I could do. With three slotted gearbox mounts, the custom axle like I described, and a custom RHS engine mount... you can keep your fabrication work to a minimum.

To answer your other question, keep that engine level yo.

I'm Using 1999 TIb/Coupe mk1 Engine & Gearbox

My Engine was a 1.3 Sohc 12V

i wanna mount it perfect because i need access all around for Turbo Lines,Pipe work,Oil cooler ect.

Note, Picture is not to scale lol

I'v noted all the mounts are 2 far right

So if you remove the drivers side mount and remake it the problem should correct the other 3 wrong mounts ?

Looks like im right

found this

The normal Beta mount forces the whole engine to far right.

So if i replace this mount should all the others fall into place ?

You may find something helpful in here

https://www.hyundaiaftermarket.org/f...ta-swap-guide/

or elsewhere on this site. I'm pretty sure if you make good use of the search function on hyundaiaftermarket you will find somebody else's thread where they lay out just what you want to know. You CAN do the work the hard way but probably you don't have to.

I can confirm..

Swaping the drivers mount will not allow the other mounts to fit.

I'v cut runners into the 2 Gearbox mounts allowing 1/2 inch left/right.

i will now level the engine (tilt size)

Then custom make the Engine and top gearbox mounts.

ill upload pictures asap
