Hey guz,

What NA mods would be good to get greater low end torque?Right now I have the following on my 00 Tib........
(1)4-2-1 headers
(2)2.5" catback
(3)CAI
(4)60mm(62mm?)BBTB

I'd like to have the power band shifted down to more like 3 to 3500 RPM.

Thanx 8)

Well w/out F/I, get rid of the 2.5" exhaust.. Thatll kill your low-end if your N/A.. Not sure of a whole lot thatll give you a lower powerband.. Really, i havent seen alot of mods for tibs thatll give alot of low-end torque.. Most is for top-end..

F/I...........forced induction??

I kinda new about the 2.5" exhaust. But I found or actually remembered about a muffler that will give me some low end.

But basically it sounds like if I go with intake/exhaust stuff with large diameter pipes,I will not get the low end I want.Is this right?

Yep! If you go to big/free breathing on your exhaust, you loose back pressure and then you loose bottom end power. The easyest way to get some back is to put a resonator into your ex system which will create some back pressure. This will quieten your ex a bit but will give it a deeper note as well.

Yeah, I am thinking about going with a Supertrap muffler, which I can adjust to give me more back pressure and quiet it down. But in addition to this, what else? At some point I'm thinking about going with a chip.I don't remember the name of the company off hand, but they're in Austraila. If I remember right, they can to an extent program the chip for your needs.

It'll probably be some time before I get one.I should probably do other mods first.

I have spoken to the guys at Powerchip and they say that the chip give an instant 14% power increase. The only thing stopping me getting 1 for now is $$ (to many family things costing me).
