Alright here is a follow up. Ok first I thought they were shipped dry but they are actually oiled. Next you need the 3" one not the 2&3/4. It seems that even though their (k&n) site shows as ID=2&3/4 it is actually the OD so it doesnt fit well. Finally dont get the one thats 6.5" long. Go with the 5&1/2-6" ones. The 6.5" one touches the inside of the bumper. Feels a little better. Wouldnt say any sort of huge increase but it does feel nice. Guess I was the test dummy lol.

cool, glad to know how it works. As my CAI is different from most peoples, I will have to go and measure how much space I have to deal with.

RX-4990. It has a 3" inlet, 6" base, 5" top, and is 5.5" long.

I called Jegs and Summit to order, but they do not carry the filter and have to special order it. They stated it would take around 2 weeks to get it, so I ordered from the site that Ultra had mentioned. I bought the last one they had!!...hehe
I should be getting it tomarrow or the next day (as they are located in Texas) so if anyone wants to buy my old K&N send me a PM

I agree that the extra surface area to bring in air can only help the situation. I don't know about how much but it looks cool and functional so it's okay in my book.

yeah. hard not to agree with that...

i always wondered why they made the flat top cones in the first place. glad to see they finally made an up-front inlet.
