Yeah, I as wondering are Intake valves, springs, and retainers really that necessary, when you have a boosted car?
Thanks Matt

...

Are you serious?

Of course you need intake valves, if you didn't have them, you couldn't build compression and all the air/fuel mixture would get pushed back into your IM.

LOL

i think hes talkin about "upgrades" cuz he heard a honda guy talk about stainless springs and titanium retainers for his NA 16 second Vtec powered car

btw you shouldnt need em

if you swapped i bet you would get a max of like 3hp

Well, next time you might wanna be more specific.

Springs/valves and such are nice addons for a nicely built engine with FI. You can get oversized valves and get more in and out of your engine that way, and stronger springs snap stuff closed quicker.

Everything counts man.

honestly... larger valves are nice.. but because you cannot easily change our rev limiter.. stock springs are good as is. Anything stronger will take HP away from drag... Lighter valve gear is nice though.. and that is what the Titanium retainers are...

lighter valves and aftermarket springs more needed if you will rev your engine higher than redline.

because with stock valvetraine if you run 9K RPM (for example) valves may stay open, cause they will not be closing fast enough.
