There is about a 12 inch long 'L' shaped bracket with two bolts on each side that connects under the intake manifold and the engine. Does anyone know if this bracket needs to be there? Or what it's purpose is? Thanks.

its a support for the IM, but you can just take it off with no problems.. i have had the air ram with a fuel spacer for over a year, and had no problems.. we took the bracket off on mwoods car and he hasnt had any problems.. its just extra weight and to keep stress off the manifold studs.

I've had mine off for round 2 years with no probs, and when I did some mods to a mates Tib I took it off and then I wondered "how much does this thing weigh anyhow?"
Answer is 850g (braket & 4 bolts).

Thanks for the conversion H. It's a good free mod for those chasing weight reduction.
