Idle problems......
OK here is the problem.... My car is doing some weird crap lately. When I start the car sometimes the RPM's will jump right up to about 2K and hang there then slowly as the car warms up they will drop to around 1K or 900. Now I think 900 is around normal. And when the car is just sitting still at idle after being driven for a bit the rpm's will kind of bound from around 900 to about just a little over 1k. I had a bbtb on and thought maybe this was the problem so I put the stock one back on and it still does it. I've tried adjusting the idle using the screw on the TB. Nothing seems to help. Does anyone have any ideas? Could it be the TPS sensor going bad or on wrong?
you might want to check and see if it is spitting out any codes. sounds like it could be a problem with the idle valve if it fluctuates like that.
probably is the tps though, since you have messed with it.

My car does this sometimes after driving it kinda hard and then letting it sit for a day or two. This may be a stupid question but did you reset your ECU after replacing your TB??
yes I did..... does anyone know how much a new TPS sensor costs? Cause if its cheap I'll pick one up and see if that does the trick?
**EDIT**
I checked on Webtech for any information on how to test the TPS Sensor to see if its bad but I came up with nothing. Does anyone know of a way to do this? Like checking the resistance or something?

Call a local Junkyard or ask David how much one is.
Blacktibs may have one he can get you for cheap.

i believe they start around 60 and then up, you could get them autozone or kragen.
i think on cold starts the rpm's are gonna be a bit higher, are you sure when the car is warm its not the fan causing it to go up to 1k?

well after posting I remembered that the BBTB I bought had come with a new TPS. I tried that one and it had the same problem. o1roller I know on a cold start the idle may be a little high, but this is 2k and it just started happening, never happened before. And when the car has been warmed up and seems to stay around 1k its not just sitting at 1k it bounces from the high 900's to just over 1k. Doesn't find that happy spot where it kind of just chills out and idles nice.

Okay, we know the TPS isn't the problem.
1. Check all your intake connections and such to see if there are any leaks.
2. Run a can of B12 Chemtool thru that sucker at a LOW fuel tank FAST.
3. Check your plugs, change them if possible.
4. Check your wires and have your Coilpack tested at Autozone (I think they do that).
5. Check your plug wires, have them tested or try out a new one for S&G, if no change, return them.
6. Fuel filter? Long shot, but have you changed it?

OK REDZ :
I'll double check the intake line but I'm pretty positive there are not leaks.
My plugs and wires are only about 3 months old.
I also ran a can of B12 through it last week (not on a low tank, maybe half tank)
I haven't changed the fuel filter though.... that should be done regardless... It that located underneath the rear seat??? I thought I saw that somehwer?
Can I check the coilpack with a multimeter ? I would just need to know what readings I should get and where...
