I just installed my new Magnaflow catalytic converter. This one is about the same size as OEM, it just has a larger inlet and outlet. It also runs CLEAN! It ran so darn clean I had mist inside my tail pipe after running for 1 minute. I was absoloutely amazed. I had never seen that much water vapor from my oem catalytic converter. This thing works great.

Magnaflow FTW!

As Tibbychick mentioned the magnaflow is defently best bang for your buck.....I have been running them for 10 years in my Tib and love them BUT the only thing i noticed is that they dont last long as it will clog up like it did with mine...

BUT the best high flow race cat on the market is RANDOM technology hih flow cats.Only disadvantage is they cost twice as much but tests show they flow the highest....I got mine last year but been to lazy to install it lmao.gif

I received a check engine light last week and I cleared it out. The error was Catalytic converter reduced efficiency. Now, I also left my nitrous bottle on and it is possible that the nitrous was slowly leaking into the engine while I was driving. I'm not completely sure. My nitrous tank is fully drained. I've received this code once before when I had my bottle on. I'm wondering if anyone has ever heard of nitrous oxide reducing catalytic converter efficiency.

It does not appear that my car is running dirty, it seems to run pretty clean and well.

Would adding N2O without adding fuel make the o2 sensors think the fuel was not being fully burned?

If the CEL was caused from actual reduced catalytic converter efficiency, would a spark plug non-fouler be an option?

I would do something to trick your O2. Even if its running clean it may not see the same jump as OEM with 2 cats and could throw the code. I dont think nitrous in the exhaust would cause this code.

P0420 right?

I don't remember the code. I just remember checking it and it said reduced catalytic efficiency.

so you still have a CEL? probably P0422. those sensors will read the slightest change. perhaps the cat is just breaking in. i don't know what else it could be if your N20 is empty. it looks good from the picture.
