I Got A Dilemma & I Can't Seem To Find The Root Cause.
Have you checked your ball joints? Easy way to check ....Jack up a front tire grab at 3 and 9 o'clock on the wheel shake a lil if you hear a clunk it's you tie rods now do the same at 12 and 6 o'clock hear a noise? thats your ball joints ....Also check your swaybar link's and the top of your strut mounts....It's just a couple of Ideas hope it help's!!!
I just finished the Tie Rod ends.
I have ksport coilovers, I doubt its them.
And it doesn't matter if the wheels are straight or turned.
I'm going to go for an allignment soon b/c that needs to get done, than I when I get more time on my hand I'll look into it a bit further.

I would also check the front suspension on that side for a bad bushing. It sounds like the one of the suspension arms is allowing the wheel to move forward some.. which is causing the clunk.

do you have pillow ball mounts? might want to check that
open the hood and then jack up the car and grab the wheel at 6 o' clock and move it up and down now while you do that look at the shock mount if it moves at all its time to change
