If I remember correctly Motor Trend said the 1997 Tibby's 1/4 was 17second in the 80's mph. I have yet to see a stock tibby get to a drag race but then there are so many variables.

In a program of Motor Week they test a 2001 Tiburon and the fasted time was 15.9 this time was maked by a expert. In some magazines like Road & Track, Motor Trend, Tiburons have times of 16.3.

Uhhh, it doesn't really matter. Same engine. If you want to know exactly what a 97 Tib FX will do simply bring your car to the local drag strip, race it, collect time-slips and take notes. OR you can ask someone on TeamSR and believe them! rolleyes.gif

There is no "exact" time. It depends on...

driver
Air temp
Humidity
Air pressure
Elevation
and with 1997, miles on the engine and what shape it is in.

There is never an "exact" 1/4 mile time for ANY car.

With my stock auto, on an 1/8th mile (we don't have a 1/4 mile track here) the best I've had I believe is close to 11.00 flat at somewhere around 64 or 65mph.

My 97 has about 53,000 miles on it, and the engine is in good shape, nothing wrong with it. What would ya say? smile.gif
