HOLD light?
Today I noticed the warning light all the way on the bottom of the lights around the gas/temp gauge says "HOLD" in big letters. I've never seen this light come on, so I'm just wondering what it is for, and when it would ever come on.
i know that on my 04 elantra the HOLD light comes on if your SMARTA code does not match what the ECU expects *aka someone is trying to hot wire your car, or you got a new SMARTA unit and did not enter the code into the computer*
it illuminates and does not allow the car to start.
if it is flashing, it means it is in TEMP RUN mode, and allows you 50 miles before it shuts down the car
just fyi

Maybe for your 04, but not for the RD Tibs.
If you take your gauge cluster out, you'll notice that hole is taped off and has no bulbs.
it was there because Hyundai was thinking of doing a Desiel Engine for us.

Yea, the RD HOLD light was to be used for diesel engines (before you start Hold is lit until the glow plugs heat up). I did notice that it is taped off and I think it would make a good stock looking indicator light smile.gif.

That would be cool, but I think it would be a little too hard to see from the outside. You want the alarm LED to be in plain view from outside the car.
